Filed by Abdul Basit Suleiman Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Lunar Calender and it is one of the sacred month in which fasting was instituted as one of the Pillars of Islam ,as a way for Believers to show their gratitude to Allah and reflect on the teachings of the Quran and its importance. It is the believe of Muslims that Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed in the month of Ramadan. Fasting in the month of Ramadan is mandatory to every Muslim who attained the age of puberty and is in good health.
