Fasting in the month of Ramadan is mandatory to every Muslim who attained the age of puberty and is in good health.  Exemptions are made for the elderly or those in poor health along with women who are in the menstrual cycle, pregnant or nursing baby. Despite several efforts been made by various governments and international organizations to make sure that people get access to a regular supply of potable water. In Ghana, the issue isn’t different. Several governments have TRIED their best to extend water supplies to various part of the country. In December, 1998, the Community Water and Sanitation Agency was established by an act of parliament (ACT 564) with the mandate to facilitate the provision of safe drinking water and related sanitation services to rural communities and small towns in Ghana. Other institutions established by the government included the Ghana Water Company Limited. This company is responsible for the production and distribution of potable water to the urban population which constitutes about 40 percent of the entire Ghanaian population. Despite th

The rate of deforestation in Ghana is estimated to be one of the highest in the world after Togo and Nigeria .At an estimated annual rate of 2% ,equivalent to 135,000 hectares per annum. TURN KUMASI ZOO TO TRANSPORT YARD The 2nd Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP),  Richard  Asante,  has reiterated the need for the Kumasi Zoological Garden to be relocated to give a facelift to Kumasi. According to him, the current  location could be used as transport yard since no provision was made under the Kejetia project. Speaking to the media after the inauguration of the Suame Municipal Assembly (SMA) yesterday,  Mr Asante said to restore the past glory of Kumasi,  authorities should put in place measures to bring down vehicular traffic within the city. He disclosed that due to unavailability of parking places,  both private and commercial drivers park their vehicles at unauthorized places which stiffen traffic in the city.
